To replace the ageing Boeing 707 / 720s, between 1992 and 1997 Lebanese carrier MEA Middle East Airlines leased three examples from Dutch carrier KLM (PH-AGC / AGE / AGF). Seen departing one of the C-Positions at Terminal 1 in August 1992, PH-AGE (ln 283) made its first flight on 24.10.1983 and became fleet member with the Dutch carrier following January. Named after Jan Steen – a Dutch painter of the 17 century – this Airbus A310-203 served with KLM until March 1992, when it was leased by Middle East Airlines. On 03.10.1997 PH-AGE was returned to KLM, which sold it to FedEx same month. Its career with FedEx ended on 11 November 2015 when it was ferried to Victorville for storage.
