Established in 1985 as a small enterprise in Dubai, Emirates started its first operations with two aircraft leased from Pakistan International. In 1985 the first of later three Boeing 727-200 (A6-EMA/ -EMB / -EMC) joined the carrier. Originally built for Mexicana in 1982, and being one of the last to be built, this Boeing 727-264 (sn 22982 / 1802) was delivered to Dubai Government 17.07.1982 as A6-HHM. In July 1988 it was sold to Emirates and became A6-EMB. In October 1995 A6-EMB was sold to Qatar Airways, becoming A7-ABD.
