D-AHLR Hapag-Lloyd Boeing 727-89 (sn 19138 / ln 246)
Between 1972 and 1976 Hapag-Lloyd received ten second-hand Boeing 727-100. Pictured D-AHLR (sn 19138 / ln 246) made its first flight on 18 March 1966, before delivered as JA8314 to Japan Domestic, a subsidary company of Japan Air Lines. In 1972 it was bought by TOA Domestic which used it until November 1975, when it was sold to German charter operator Hapag-Lloyd. After two short-term leases in 1982 to Air Djibouti and Condor, in May 1983 Hapag sold D-AHLR to SCIBE Airlift (became 9Q-CBT), which operated it until its end in the early 1990s.
