TF-FLG Icelandair Boeing 727-185C ( sn 19826 / ln 546) „Solfaxi“
TF-FLG (sn 19826 / ln 546) originally was delivered to American Flyers Airline as N12826 on 01 April 1968 and operated for some three years, before Icelandair bought it on 18 May 1971 as TF-FIA and named it „Solfaxi“. Re-registered in October 1979 as TF-FLG and new named „Heimfari“, this Boeing 727-100C was used by Icelandair until October 1989, when it was retired and sold to UPS becoming N940UP. A total of 164 examples of the series 100C were build. Configured as an all-freight variant, the 727-100C was able to carry eight cargo pallets with a maximal weight of 17 tons, the passenger configuration provided some 100 seats. TF-FLG was photographed on 15 March 1989 at Frankfurt of one of its last flights, before being replaced by new-ordered Boeing 737-400 following month.
